Priming sugar

Hi all,

Used a kit for a nut ale but lost some of the wort during transfer (spilled) to fermenter 4 weeks ago. Now have 4 gallons instead of 5. OG and FG were both spot on. The question is whether I sue all of the priming sugar or 4/5 (80%) due to decreased volume. Don't want to have exploding bottles.

You have the right idea. I would use 4/5ths of the priming sugar provided in the kit. You will risk overcarbonation if you use the full amount. Cheers!

1oz of priming sugar per gallon is standard,so that'll be fine.

I would definitely sue the priming sugar. If you have a good enough lawyer, you should be able to get 4/5 of it in a settlement...
