I think this might have been discussed a couple weeks ago, but I'm going to be priming my white ale soon and I bought those Muntons carbtabs to use, thinking they'd work better and possibly carbonate more consistently.

Is there anything I should be aware of or possible side effects with these things, or should I just stick with using sugar?

(Keep in mind, I don't have the funds to get keg equipment right now :( )

I'd stick with sugar and save the carb tabs for when you're in a pinch. I've used them and don't really care for them. Apart from the fact that they're a pain in the ass to distribute per bottle, they don't seem to carb as much as they imply and there is always a chunk or two of white carb tab floating around. They're good for a test batch or if you accidentally undercarbed and have to uncap/recap, but I won't use them anymore for my main priming sugar.
