I'm working with limited time this weekend and got to get 20 gallons bottled and kegged. trying to figure out ways to shave a little time out of the process and thought hell I should sanitize the kegs right now. Could I sanitize now and seal them up with a little preasure for the weekend or is this a bad idea?

I normally sanitize right before kegging, but I think if you sanitized and then filled with CO2 and purged air, you might be OK.

But really, sanitizing takes two minutes of contact time. Are you really saving yourself that much time?

After each use, I clean my kegs and then spray a couple ounces of starsan made with distilled water in each. I purge & pressurize with co2 to seal for storage. I label them "Cleaned & Ready". When I'm ready to keg, I grab one, shake the starsan around a bit, relieve the pressure, and dump. I spray just a bit of fresh starsan rinse, dump and they are ready to go.

Sounds like a lot, but it is less than 2 minutes when ready to keg.

I guess either way its only a couple of minutes. I'll look elsewhere to cut some time of the day. thanks for the input fellas :mug:

I for one don't think this a bad idea. I keep like a gallon of star san in a keg if its 'empty' after I clean it first. I pressurize it and do the out tube, but my old kegs tend to leak unless the QD's are on, so I'll re-pressurize and hit the out poppet right before I shake n dump the keg and start the siphon.

If it saves 10 minutes kegging when you're in a big time crunch, by god it saves 10 minutes!
