Hey guys/gals,

I'm heading on an ice fishing trip tomorrow and I'm wondering if I fill a growler or two from my keg if the carbonation will last the hour drive and few hours of not drinking before noon. I'm guessing it won't but is there anything I can do overnight like crank co2 or anything else that can be done to allow me to fill a growler and enjoy carbed beer?

Yes- but don't "pour" it. Did you ever get a fill at a brewpub where they add a piece of tubing to the faucet that goes to the bottom of the growler? It helps with foaming, so that carbonation stays.

Even a cheap piece of tubing will help.

I just filled three tap-a-draft bottles using nothing more that a chunk of tubing stuffed in the tap. The colder the better when filling but otherwise nothing needed. I do this all the time.

As above Use a tube stuffed into the spout and reaches the bottom with the end cut at a slant, but drop the keg to 4 PSI. Works for growlers and bottling. Also don't throttle the valve--open it wide as quickly as possible.

Awesome, thanks guys! I'm not completely satisfied with my carb level so I'm going to crank to 25psi tonight and fill growlers tomorrow. This beer isn't going to last long.......
