***********1. Enforce rules only against their foes (i.e., anyone who does not suck up to them) while exempting their friends from similar or worse behavior.

2. Silently boot someone and then proceed to trash talk the person as if the person was still there with an opportunity to respond.

3. Boot someone and then start a thread for the sole purpose of boasting about having removed the person, so as to bask in the praise of sychophantic members applauding the moderator's bold action.

4. If a person is being stalked or trolled, scold, warn and threaten both the victim and the perpetrator to stop it. If the victim protests, boot the victim for having defied the moderator's authority. Add injury to insult by allowing the troll or stalker to stay because the stalker or troll didn't talk back to the moderator.

5. If the moderator loses an argument to another member, selectively delete the member's comments so that the thread no longer makes any sense.

6. Selectively enforce the tribe's rules only against newcomers, newbies or people who are not friend with the moderator.

7. Speak about their actions as moderator in the passive voice, use the royal we, and otherwise take on a haughty, authoritarian tone. I mean, dude, you're just a moderator. ***************

Stains the heck outta your hands, too. Bright purple is a fun color to wear around.

How hard is it to get the color out of skin?

I can see how the color might be useful for determining whether there is renaming chemical on surfaces.

What are you thinking? You feel like dressing up in level C PPE whenever you need to mix up a batch of disinfectant? Star-San not good enough for you?

And, from the last sentence in the first paragraph from the EPA link: Although potassium permanganate has many potential uses as an oxidant, it is a poor disinfectant.

I don't get it. But to each their own.

We use acidified (sulfuric) KMnO4 in environmental testing when measuring for mercury in air. It's a purple solution that turns brown when it dries. It does not wash out of clothes. I wouldn't know how long it takes to get off of skin because I always wear gloves when handling it.

Slow down with the google searches, friend.

Guilty as charged
I am one of those for whom enough is never.

is a poor disinfectant.
Yah it's not a primary

I don't get it.

Intellectual curiosity mostly.

I may not go to mars, but I want to know a little about how it's done.

Is it a no-rinse sanitizer?

I can't imagine that it would be.
It's not what you'd call a sanitizer rather it's a disinfectant.

If not, FAIL.

Not necessarily.
In the armada of things that kill other things one can never have too many options. When one thing doesn't work it's good to have a plan B or C etc.

And most remarkable I thought was that it's good for breaking down that whole pack of otherwise toxic chemicals.
