You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I also just noticed that there is a newer brewery operating in the industrial park area, Battery Steele. I guess they are in Bissell's old space? Does anybody have an opinion on them?
They are actually on the same side of the building as Austin St (Foundation expanded into Bissell's old space). They hit the ground running, canning day 1. I've liked everything from them so far... including the beer I'm drinking right now!

I know this question was asked but it was back in 2014 so maybe something has changed...

Best place for:
1. Lobster Rolls
2. Oysters
?

Certainly any local can (and really should) correct me, but my recent re-reading of this thread, combined with my independent research suggests that the answers are:

1. High Roller (which is actually a cart) is the best, but the Lobster Shack is good too (and byob), and Eventide is also good (though it serves an unconventional lobster roll)

2. Eventide seems to be the preferred option for oysters and I haven't seen any place that is as universally well-reviewed, so I don't really have a secondary suggestion on that one.

so Eventide and find High Roller

Any good beer happenings in Portland this week? Headed tomorrow for a few days.

Is there an actual Maine thread? yes to lazy to search as I have this on my watch list.

Any decent places in Freeport (other then Maine)or Bath? I may be staying in one or the other in mid Sept on my way to Baley island and Arcadia Natl Park

thanks.

There's a newish brewery in Brunswick (Flight Deck). Not sure how their beers are though.

Depending on your route, the Bangor/Orono area has a couple decent ones - Orono, Mason's, Marsh Island.

There is also Marshall Wharf in Belfast and Oxbow in Newcastle.

Cool thanks, Oxbow for sure as I've been to it before. The others I haven't. Also will hit Lively's place in Brunswick...

IN! Thanks for the info :)

Has anyone been to Novare Res for Zwanze? Well run or hectic? Thanks folks! :)
Are you trying to say you're in town that weekend?

Agree with what JBPortland said. Very chill, show up within the first hour they are open to grab a ticket. They'll have some good **** on tap and assuming it's good weather, the deck will make it so it's not really crowded come tap time.

Yup! Will you be around? I'm on a family trip but I should be able to duck out for a few hours
