I'm headed up to Portland tomorrow and I can't ******* wait. Second time, but this time it's for pure leisure.

I just saw someone developed a Bissell Brother app that I intend on using often.

On the average, what time does one need to get to Bissell in order to be assured a release like Reciprocal? Follow up question but with the daily canned Substance?

Thanks.

Granted I've only been once, but Swish was available for at least an hour and a half last Saturday.

Just have to say that Allagash is the best in the biz in terms of hospitality. Coffee and donuts at the release; free flights; free bottle bags; surprise bottles of Resurgam for sale. With no limits on the CR, I saw employees using a dolly to help customers get their 10ish cases out the door.

Sometimes I go just for the free donuts, coffee, and flights. No other brewery that I've been to treats their customers like that - especially every time they have a release.

Anyone planning on hitting the Beer Camp fest on Saturday? I went in 2015 and had a blast - at $55 for 4 hours of great beer and music, I can't possibly think of a better way to spend a Saturday evening.

I'm heading up for the Pils & Love festival in a few weeks. I'm not sure where I'm staying yet, but I just went through most of this thread and I think I've got a good handle on where I'm going to spend my non-festival time. I just wanted to check on three things:

1. My girlfriend is obsessed with donuts, so Holy Donut is something we're definitely doing. Are all of their locations a crowded shitshow or something at all times? Like, is it necessary for me to show up with my camping chair and **** if I just want to get a few donuts on a Saturday or Sunday morning, or can I roll over at like 8:30 or 9:00 and grab some stuff in a reasonable amount of time?

2. I just wanted to check in on good breakfast places. I have a bunch of places that were recommended throughout the thread for both food, baked goods, and coffee, but I figured I'd see if anybody has some current favorites that maybe haven't previously been mentioned.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You don't need to line up for Holy Donut, but they will sell out. I've arrived late afternoon in a Sat and been told they're out of donuts. I almost always go to the Park Ave location; I'm less familiar with the others.

I love The Front Room for breakfast.

Downtown location (Exchange Street) gets very busy and sells out early. Not sure about Park Ave but can't imagine it's as bad. They also have a Scarborough location in you have car.

Front Room is good, same with Bayside American Cafe (formerly Bintliffs). I also like Little Tap House.

You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I also just noticed that there is a newer brewery operating in the industrial park area, Battery Steele. I guess they are in Bissell's old space? Does anybody have an opinion on them?

I'm a huge fan of the Silly's, Oxbow one-two combo for weekend brunch in Portland.

Forgot about Silly's. I swear to god, their blueberry cake is one of the best pieces of cake I've ever had. Tried to get a whole cake for my birthday this year and their baker was out of town or something. I digress, but this is to say that I also enjoy their food.

The block of Washington Ave near Oxbow has been on a serious come up recently for food+drink. It's insane. You could spend an entire day just there in a 50 yard radius and be more than happy.

Oxbow
Maine Mead
Hardshore Distilling
Sillys
Terlingua
Otto (just around the corner)
Drifter's Wife
Coffee by Design

Nuts. What else do you need???

I miss maine

I went to East Ender (next to DuckFat) because DuckFat had too long of a wait, and the Duck Confit Hash I had for brunch was one of the best things I've ever had.

Izakaya Minato is open now right next to Terlingua and is putting out some of the best food I've ever tasted. Tap list is small but well done(speaking from a very biased opinion ;) )
