Neat. I have considered doing that with a 3 gallon keg, for when my dual keg rig is over kill.

Cool idea. Bit spendy though since it involves two of those rubbermaid coolers. You could build a 3 tap trash can kegerator for the same price if you build his cupholder tower. If you use an actual tower like his you can build it way less. And you can serve three kegs instead of one.

I thought of a similiar idea as a cheaper version using two 5 gallon buckets a while back (or a 6.5 and a 5 whatever you need for height) but I never went thru with it because I felt it wouldn't be stable enough. It's kind of narrow and tall not a good combo with people drinking. Also I realized early on that the CO2 tank and regulator need to be inside out of sight. Dials and knobs and hoses fascinate drunk people ;)

Not bad. I like the holster for the co2 tank. I've built something similiar to Kirks, but I didn't want to include a tower. I just throw this up on a table and it's good to go. My only complaint is the portable co2 dispensers. They're junk, and I will be replacing mine with an actual co2 tank this summer. I used this two or three times this past summer and each time it would keep beer cold through the entire keg. I had ice sit in the cooler for 3 days in 90 degree temps and it still hadn't melted.

nice shop!!

Someday soon I'll upgrade to something that can pour from 5 gal kegs (probably along the lines of the trasherator), but until then I have R2Beer2 to keep me company.

If you are just doing one keg inside. A 5 gallon corny will stay cold all night long in a 5 or 6.5 gallon bucket with ice packed around it.

I put together the tailgater back in '08 and have used it a few times. I might upgrade to the paintball CO2 system at some point but for now the 16 gram CO2 cartridges work for me as it only gets used a couple of times per year.

As HopsMeister said, just put it up on the counter (or tailgate) and you're good to go.
