When "Pancho" Lozano came out with that "cooler" it was the answer to a long sought ask for many as it totally made sense. To my knowledge it was the one and only double-walled cooler capable of fitting a 5g ball lock keg. fwiw, I use a wheeled rectangular plastic trash bin that fits a pair of 5g ball locks with plenty of room for ice that I wrap a sleeping bag around to cut down the melt speed somewhat...

Cheers!

http://www.homebrewing.com/articles/beer-dispensing-cooler/ came across this one too. I like the simplicity and mostly self contained
I still need to do the assembly, but I picked up a 5 gal beverage cooler (from Lowes, I liked the blue better than the bright orange) and a Nukatap Mini with the mounting package. My 10L / 2.6 gal Torpedo kegs fit in with enough room on the top and bottom for some ice, but they fit a lot tighter than the picture in that article. It makes me question if that is a 5 gallon cooler in the picture.

I also question whether it's a three gallon keg. And whether the cooler is five gallons or not, the picture is a rubbermaid not an igloo (so is the link). The dimensions might be a little bit different even if the volume is the same.

I have a 10 gallon Home Depot cooler and it fits a 2 1/2 gallon keg with plenty of room for a soda stream CO2 bottle, regulator and ice. I'll take some photos when I get home, but it looks very similar to the one in the article linked above.

Going to try with these , they are 5 gallon igloo coolers bought at walmart, the keg is a 2.5 gallon keg. Going to look into how to do the rest

Here’s my 10 gallon cooler with 2 1/2 gallon keg. Plenty of room for the soda stream CO2 tank, ice etc. I also added a port to the back if I want to use a jockey box coil instead of the 2 1/2 gallon keg.

I have to assume the pics from the linked article are using a 10 gallon cooler like yours. I debated a bit. The 10 gal cost a little more and is a bit larger to store, but would have more room for ice, for a small CO2 tank inside, and more room for a shank or other connection lines.

I need to assemble mine and give it a try with a beer!

i ended up building a pair of the portable 5 gallon version with quick disconnects in the lid so that it didnt take up room inside the cooler. THier are Quick disconnects for liquid and gas on the inside, I went with 6ft of line to keep foam in check, so far so good. dont mind the old tap handles in the pic they are just to illustrate. The 2 coolers fit in a fold up wagon with the co2 tank. the 2.5 gallon works well in it, i used it first time at an outdoor gathering, the keg was cold for at least 6 hours(it went from the fridge to cooler, and then iced) didnt have foam issues and really worked well was pretty happy. going to take it to another gathering today.

little bit of an update.
You ever have the ice packs that come with liquid yeast and wonder what do i do with that?
I had to cut a slight releif in the lid for the shank to make everything sit snug. I was originally thinking maybe i could take the lid and fill it with water and freeze the lid. Instead i did this, i was able to get 7 of the ice packs in the lid, and i think if i worked a little more i could have gotten 8 without to much trouble. I am hpoing it helps keep things cold, and lets the shank stay a little cooler. It was easier to fit the lid in the freezer, i am hoping to pre chill the whole cooler in the fridge.

I made one out of a wheeled cooler. Something on the order of 2/3 of a 5gal corny sits in the cooler with room for ice all around. The exposed part of the keg and open area of the cooler are covered with a dual layer "jacket" made with Reflectrix insulation.

Back in my high school days, when dinosaurs roamed the land, my buddy made a jockey box using an Igloo (I think), cooler, some copper tubing and a line out of the plug at the bottom to a picnic tap. We put dry ice in it if I remember correctly and damn if that was some of the coldest beer I think I have ever had. I have thought about doing that but carrying around a 5 gallon keg, co2 tank and the jocket box just is too much. That and I don't really do much drinking anymore outside my house. LOL

Picked up a dual faucet/tap, plate chiller jockey box some years back for real short money when a local store was getting out of rental business. I've never used it, LOL.

I picked up a four tap, plate chiller, Cornelius-branded soda jockey box on Craigslist a while back. I might trust the plate chiller some day after I flush with hot PBW it seventeen or eighteen more times, assuming that I can get new fittings on it without any leaks. But I did replace two of the soda taps with beer faucets and I can fit two 1.6 gallon minikegs inside the cooler with room for ice, beer and gas lines, and a sodastream cylinder with miniregulator.
