I have two elements "spare" at the moment and I'd like to use one as a heat stick or over the side immersion heater.
I've read the build thread but my elements are different to those in that build so I have attached a picture.

I'd prefer to use the round one its a full 3Kw (UK240V) it should be inserted through two holes and back nuts used to tighten it down.

I'm not sure what to use as a box?/fitting to fit it into.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah man, go with the HotRod from Brewhardware. I have two and love them. They're extremely well built and high quality and priced very reasonably.

Cheers and enjoy the brew.

:) I live in the UK so a US shop is a long long way off.

I've spent most of the evening thinking about it and I believe I have sorted out a workable design all I still need to source is a good Lott king compound.

Thanks All. Aamcle

I'll post a build thread when I've completed the heater.

Quick question, which JB Weld is used in the heat stick builds? There are a number of products and I'm not entirely sure which one to use.

I have some Water Weld can I use that? Can it be thinned down to make it runny?

Thanks. aamcle

Jb weld is two liquids that are mixed, while water weld is a putty, I doubt it could be thinned down and still dry correctly. Usually people use the Jb weld that comes in the red and black tubes.
