Please clarify distilling process to keep me from going blind

Hey. I have been reading online all over about distilling. My only real question is how do i remove the first and the last 30 ml of everything I distill. There is a local guy around here that makes stove top stills, I might talk to him about it. However I'm signed up for this website so i figured i would ask you guys first
 
Heya! You might have better luck over at http://homedistiller.org/

It is illegal in the US so this thread will probably get locked to keep unwanted attention away from this board (being a U.S. based forum).

In any case it sounds like you have the right idea of throwing away the first and last runnings from the still, but I've not read in to it a lot.
 
Have a look at the site conpewter referenced, you'll find all the info you need there.

As mentioned, we don't discuss distilling on HBT.
