Hey all,
I am new to all this, and I was wondering if one of those 5 gallon plastic water jugs would suffice for a secondary fermenter; you know, one of the "water cooler" jugs. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance,
Purdy

I did exactly that for my first batch! Be aware though that the water cooler bottles are generally a little less than 5 gallons. I had to bottle a half dozen bottles straight from the primary because there wasn't enough room in the water cooler bottle.

A lot of people say no since the plastic is oxygen permeable, but some people have tried it and had success. If you have a 1 in the recycle symbol it's goo to go.
