I recieve alot of plasic 5 and 6 gallon buckets at my work. The buckets are used for foodstuffs and so on so I imagine it to be quality plastic. Just wondering what number plastic is need for brewing? I use a fermenting bucket, and a carboy for my secondary. If I can use these other buckets as well, it be alot more cost effective and give me more to work with.

Yeah, if you get the big buckets that peanut butter and frosting come in, that's fine. The only "bad" bucket that comes from a bakery or restaurant is one that held pickles. You can never ever get the pickle flavor out.
