Has anyone else tried the new bottlings? Very curious how they're tasting, as I've ordered some but haven't picked them up yet.

quince>nectar>bartlett>orchard

and barn beer is awesome too (but completely different so left it out of above)

i wish i had more quince. glad i have a few more nectar/bartlett though. my nectar bottle had a fuckton of pulp/floaties in it which i enjoyed.

I would send them an email before trying to visit. I know they are trying to be open as a brewery 5 days a week, but I think at the moment they are not. They are just a husband and wife, and very cute little girl, that are trying to get this all done. I'm sure they wouldn't be against guests, but I'm sure at the moment they would need some heads up.

I think Bartlett can use a little more time in the bottle. It's tasty and has a very soft pear flavor, but a little undercarbed. Hoping it might perk up a little bit with time. Overall though, a nice beer. Haven't had the Nectar yet but so far, Quince has been my favorite, but everything's been solid.
Agreed on the undercarbed-ness of Bartlett. The pear is also really tough to pick out. Gonna lay down my other bottle for a while and hope it gets a bit more exciting carb/flavorwise

Being that I live in Poughkeepsie... when should I venture to this brewery..?

Not till they open the brewery or farm stand. I don't believe you can buy any of their beer right now unless you are on Hive or Swarm, last I heard they are hoping to open sometime in July. They posted that they may have a farm stand open to sell beer late May.

Don't quote me on this as I may or may not have been drinking.

Just visited Plan Bee yesterday. The barn brewery is really coming together and it's gonna be pretty awesome once all the ideas come together. Drank Nectar, Barn Beer, and Bartlett yesterday, they all need a lil more time in the bottle but I can definitely tell the beer has improved from being brewed out of the shed. Can't wait for some more.

With that new system all his best beers are ahead. Great things will be made there.

I was at Ginger Man the other day to entertain a friend who was in town and staying at the Langham Place Hotel, caddy-corner from GM, and they had Nectar, Bartlett, and Barn on their menu. Interesting to see those elixirs on a menu.

I was about to ask what the deal was with visiting Plan Bee since I didn't see anyone mentioning picking up bottles at the brewery, but then I looked on their facebook page. Going there at noon tomorrow...excited!

Edit: According to their FAQ, they only sell bottles for now but plan to have a tasting room by this Fall or next Spring.

Our farmstand will be open this Saturday from 12-5pm! We are located at 115 Underhill Road in Poughkeepsie (12603). We will have the following 6 varieties available for purchase:

Nectar- All Hudson Valley floor malt & local nectarines. Tart and tangy, super juicy, oak aged wild ale.

Karnij- A dark wild ale with tart Balaton Cherries aged in Hillrock Estate Distillery Double Rye barrels. It's very reminiscent of a tart chocolate-covered cherry with subtle Rye Whiskey notes.

Wild Mountain Honey- Raw wheat & 60 lbs of raw local honey from Remsburger farms in Pleasant Valley. Very dry & juicy, with a light tang, tropical fruit, citrus, & floral honey aromas & flavors.

Dandeliaison- Dandelions from our farm & 60 lbs of local honey. Sharp aroma spice, sweet grass, & rich fruit flowers. Flavor of black pepper, slight bubblegum, melon, and floral honey.

Royal Jelly- Our Strong Farmhouse with lotsa local honey aged in Hillrock Estate Distillery Bourbon Barrels. Very rich & complex w/ tart pineapple & bourbon notes combine in an orange/vanilla flavor with a boozy accent.

Karnl- Wild Ale aged in second use Bourbon Barrels on Montmorency Cherries. Pours a pink/reddish hue with massive cherry-pie flavor with medium acidity.

I just cracked a Karnl last night. It's going to be very good but needs time - at least a few months. Was basically flat and very very very fruit forward/sour. I would sit on any bottles for a while to have the flavors meld a bit and hopefully develop betetr carb.

If anyone from NJ is heading up tomorrow and feels like grabbing my bottles, it would be much appreciated. All the travel through May/June and continuing through the first half of July has made it impossible.

Actually that gives me an idea. If anyone in Brooklyn who has a car is heading up any time between now an the party, and would be willing to pick up my boxes, I'd be very thankful and whatever whatever. Hit me up.

Rock31 hooked it up with the pickup and I was finally able to open a Nectar last night. Pretty damn delicious on the first pour, but the second pour was super cloudy/yeasty. Will just carefully pour into two glasses the next time I decide to dome one. Aside from that, it was just as juicy and tart is it should have been.

What was the farmstand like last weekend?

How early do I need to be there to make sure I get beer?

And most importantly, is there anywhere nearby to get a decent bagel to eat while waiting in line?

I was there at 12:15 on Saturday, there were three other people hanging out waiting on their order and sampling with me.

Unless something drastically changes I would not expect any kind of wait or lines to buy beer, it is a fruit stand with an Ipad setup to take payments. Most of their releases they now have plenty of.

If you have not been up there yet it is definitely worth the visit even without the tasting room being open, both of them are very nice and will give you a small tour of the barn/brewery if that interests you.

Spent some time at the farm yesterday. Beautiful location, not to mention Evan and Emily being the worlds nicest human beings. I could see myself spending a lot of time up there once they are in full swing. That being said, what they have planned is going to be a huge undertaking and they have a long road ahead.

I opened a Karnl when I got home. Easily the best beer I've had from the membership so far. Tart cherry pie.

can anyone give me an idea of the bottles available at the brewery right now? Gonna head up tomorrow afternoon. Thanks

I suck at sharing instagram stuff it won't let me post it. It appears that Farmstand Ale is a new release for tomorrow. Barn beers summer cousin. Sounds good to me.
Also Tree Beer, one of my favorites from them.

Oh man, I just stopped there this afternoon. I'm stoked this place is only 10 minutes away from me. I will definitely be spending some more time there especially since Farm Stand will be 10 dollars forever, and the scenery is gorgeous

Opened one Thursday.... Holy gusher, but that fruit and funk was amazing.

We also opened a karnij, one of the most unique beers I've ever had and I totally dig that.
