And to be fair, the context of my statement about Akamai vs GB is that i've never had them side by side. Akamai was always my favorite BG beer. But having GB next to it made me like it to a lesser extent because I found it less complex. I wasn't trying to compare two different beers from different breweries.
I agree that NG and Akamai are definitely 2 different beers. As are GB and NG. I personally find BG hoppy beers easier to drink than beers like NG but to each their own.

Sadly "Tomorrow" is now in my head...................damn you

I would certainly question anybody's tastes who feels DL has the best beer in the area and Braddocks is a standout.

Good to hear shuggy! :p

I'd say that people continue to really enjoy Draai Laag and think they are doing some great stuff (outside of Pittsburgh) while the people here will continue to **** on them regardless. They have had their share of misses that is for sure, but they are certainly doing some interesting stuff as well.

La Pienture, Red Briar and Geestelijike are all delicious IMO when the quality is right. They have issues with that though, as we all know.

Wasn't there just some recent mentioning of DL turding up the shelves in other locales? DFH does interesting stuff too.

It wouldn't surprise me since they are Shelton Bros aka the 3.5 tier system company. Shelton can turd the **** out of shelves and part of it is their mark up. This will be changing soon (Prairie will have a lot to do with the change since they were sold) and I hope that they aren't turding up shelves.

I still think they make some enjoyable stuff and when they finally dial in the consistency they will be a very good brewery.

I just can't agree with the positive Primanti's sentiment. It's incredibly bland. I generally like tons of **** on my sandwiches, but usually that's cause it makes it taste better in the end. Primanti's ingredients all taste like nothing. Piling tasteless ingredients on top of other tasteless ingredients doesn't make them all better collectively. Kinda like putting a **** beer in a barrel. Just gonna be BA ****.

But I'm not a foodie, that's for certain. Yinz are definitely the experts in that field. So I guess if you're saying Primanti's isn't that bad, I'll agree...cause ultimately, I respect you dudes more than I do Primanti's... :p

Thats what the Red Devil is for

I'd like to see a return of the Briar series, for sure. Last time I thought Red was amazing on tap, but the bottle wasn't nearly as enjoyable. I drank Black from the bottle as well but it was unmemorable which isn't a great sign. I gave Blue to a friend.

The word "foodie" makes me ******* cringe. If anyone has referred to themselves as a foodie, please direct them to the nearest highway so they can walk into traffic. Things like this bug me so much. There are few titles people give themselves that are more of a cry for attention. When I hear "foodie" all I think of is somebody walking into a restaurant and there's this exchange with the host/hostess:

Host- "Sir/Ma'am, i'ts gonna be about 30 minute wait for a table"

*********- "yeah. uhhh, I'm not sure you understand. I'm what we call a Foodie. Check again for something available or I'd like to see a manager."

Same thing happens when the check arrives.

This really isn't any different than the conduct of many a beer nerd though.

At least the most without a meme involved.

I still remember not being allowed to purchase this CD because there was a song called "************" on it. My mom wouldn't give in after I begged and promised that I only wanted the album for one song that didn't contain swear words and wouldn't listen to anything else.

not over this album, but I remember having very similar conversations with my parents. My mom used to actually screen some of my stuff. My Vanilla Ice tape was not shrink wrapped when I opened that **** at Christmas.

Nothing will impact DL' s high level turding abilities and let all of us know when they've fixed the consistency issues. They must be following the Helltown path of getting it dialed in.

Went through this same thing with my mom (thanks, Nine Inch Nails, for printing your lyrics in the liner notes) & dad (thanks, Smashing Pumpkins, for naming a song "Silverfuck").
