All of the talk of packages gone missing and losing bottles jinxed some Voodoo bottles I sent out on Wednesday... First shipment exception in 2.5 years of trading. :( Tracking says it's being sent back to me. For those of you that have experienced this before, is that the norm?

I've had mixed bags with FedEx. You are lucky they are sending it back because you can salvage something at least.

I've had shipment exceptions where they send it back sans the broken bottle, other times they bag and rebox and keep it on its way without sending any notice at all, and one other time I had to go pick up a box sent to me at the distro center because something broke.

I've never had a total loss, yet. Cross fingers.

I think it generally depends on the FedEx location. I've had two exceptions and both were growlers that leaked. In both instances everything was sent back to me, including the leaked growler. You should also expect a "threatening" letter from fedex legal about the legalities of shipping alcohol.

You got lucky. FedEx wouldn't ship mine back to me or let me buddy pick them up either. Nothing was broken, they just recognized the shipper shape and flagged it

Yeah, I think it really all depends on the employee who discovered the beer. I've heard dozens of stories from dozens of people on how their shipment was handled after it was discovered that the shipment contained alcohol, and every one is different.

My one and only delivery exception happened this year. I shipped two bottles, one of them broke. I called FedEx to see if I could make a claim on the damaged goods, but the woman I spoke with told me that they cannot do anything because it was alcohol that was shipped. She said I had an option of having them pitch the box or ship the broken contents back to me. I use FedEx exclusively and did not want to cause a problem with them so I told her just to pitch it. A few weeks after this happened, I had a completely new package show up on my doorstep with one of the bottles nicely wrapped. I couldn't believe it since a) I was under the assumption both bottles broke and b) I told them to discard the contents on site. Since then, I've shipped 4 times using the same account and haven't had a single issue, and I still haven't gotten the FedEx warning that some people have (*knocks on wood*).

Long story short, it really all depends on the person who found your stuff.

**** man, that sucks. It could mean just about anything though. Good luck!

My buddy was Alex Liefson's guitar tech and every time they came to Orlando he would give me great tickets and back stage passes. Even after all that I am still not a Rush fan, even in the smallest way.

Even if you don't like them, I give you big props for this...

I'm not good on subtle, so I will say it flat out.. I would have (and would still if they ever play live again) given years off of my life to just simply shake their hands and say "thanks" (and hopefully not become a blabbering fool in front of them)

I can directly attribute me being alive to their music getting me through some very bad times

(and yea, I've see them "a LOT")

This was the last time I saw them. I might have given these all away but if I still have some I'll toss them your way:

Rush sans Geddy Lee's singing would be a great band. They are all exceptionally talented musicians. I just hate his voice.

It's not A THING really, but i am a pretty gross person. I smoke and chew, not proud of it but it's the truth.

thanks for the recommendation bud

Everybody's somebody's weirdo.

Not sure I can recommend the Mill Street; the coffee porter was overwhelmingly ordinary, but at least it's out there. My pops travels north on occasion, so if you're really jonesing for the cherry IPA, I will ask that he BOLO next time he's up there.

I had a growler break when I shipped a PVW Black Magick....talk about nerve-racking. My experience was positive. They repackaged everything very well and shipped it back. I got the FedEx nastygram in the mail about a month later but then nothing has happened since and I have mailed a few beer-packages since then. I did avoid shipping any beer for about a month and a half afterwards and made my first shipment non-beer.

How are Lavery's offerings? They don't get much chatter around here. I had a few of their beers early on, and I wasn't very impressed. This was very early in their operation, though. I do remember really enjoying their Brett Saison.

As for that Alesmith Mexican Speedway....how the hell HAVEN'T they done that already? With all the variants they pump out, I always just assumed it had been done.

I enjoy their beers. The Liopard is good (that's the brett saison) and I really like Devil Bird and Dulachan. Also their Ulster Breakfast stout is delicious.

He didn't have any friends who were Rush fans? I've had friends with Steelers season tickets, and I always told them to invite literally everyone else they know first, and when they've all said no, then I'll go.

Edit: asked and answered - looks like I've got some catching up to do.
