Draai Laag opened in 2011. You're saying anything before 2016 was volatile. Even giving you the benefit of the doubt that they are now "reliably good" (pains me just to even quote YOU saying that), it should not take that long for a business to round into shape. A five year long **** show of volatility really shouldn't be rewarded with continued patronage. I think I officially gave up on them after back to back drain pours of Ruby de Rhone and Lumberjack Scotch BABW (or whatever the **** that one was where they basically called everyone who doesn't like Scotch a giant pussy). Pretty sure those were both post-2016 BTW.

I gave those fuckers LOOOOTS of chances. More than they deserved. No mas.

Yes way. $30/hr would be insane. 10 is bad enough. That tacks on an extra $60 any time we wanna go out. Plus they don't really have to watch the 11 and 9 year old. They're pretty self sufficient. And the baby goes to bed early so the babysitter just watches TV and eats all our food.

So I went to the farmhouse to table thing last night at ace hotel. Couple highlights:
-oxbow phosphoresence is awesome and I drank about 60 oz of it
-they ran out of food 45 minutes in. The dude who ran the event was pretty pissed and bought any hungry people full meals from the restaurant. Great gesture and I'd totally go to any other event they throw in the future.
-speaking of food, one of the offerings was a cold radish and leek soup that smelled like a backed up sewage line in your basement. It was bright green and came in shot glasses and was more of a fear factor style food challenge than anything.
-one of the gross beer servers didn't wash his hands in the bathroom so I opted against trying the one brewery
-the dg saison was gross
-the ace hotel is the hippest lamest place I've ever seen and will totally avoid in the future

I guess that makes sense with the 9 and 11 year olds. But I still think you’re getting a helluva deal at $10/hr.

We had a great time cuttin up on all the stupid ****. The "gymnasium" where it was held is just a stupid old grade school gym that they zero remodeling work into. Only a true moron would rent that place out for anything. My wife said that she'd be disappointed if she had to go to a kids basketball game there.
