This joint is right down the road from where I'm working for the next two days. Worth going? Beers are on the expensive side, but if they kick ass I'd be OK with that.
I tried two of their beers when a buddy came by with a couple of growlers the other night. My take was "not bad". I had Sid's 1K IPA which was reminiscent of fresh Neshaminy Creek County Line IPA and their Irish Red Ale which was tasty enough...for an Irish Red Ale.

I just follow the scene remotely and occasionally luck into some bottles and growlers.

A friend of mine lives out in Minneapolis near Surly and offered to bring me some beers to try when he comes back to Pittsburgh for Memorial Day Weekend.

Anything in particular i should ask him for? Let me know your thoughts.
Fresh Todd the Axeman is a thing of beauty. I pretty much enjoy all their hoppy offerings as well as coffee bender. They make 16oz can coozies which are clutch as not enough of these exist in the world.

I second Coffee Bender. That **** is awesome!

A big thanks to JimmyWimms for graciously handing me a can of Better One or Two at BG today. Drinking it now...hot damn this is tasty.

The new BG Heffe is really tasty and this last batch of Tross is exquisite.

From what I've been told, BG Hefe is a rebranded, reformulated version of straight up regs. Had some again tonight, it's tough to choose between that, overgrowth, and tiny tross for a beer Id most want to drink all day.

Cuvee de BG?

Blended drafts are the next big thing in craft beer.

Congrats man...that happened fast!! Feels like just a few months ago I was partaking in BG growlers at their first bday... :D

I know, it all goes by too fast. I was crawling through tunnels and slides all day at this chain play place called Billy Beez. Awesome for them, But the hard plastic is unforgiving. I do miss the great people I met in Pittsburgh more then anything else in the city.

Scotch is a great remedy for childcare related physical exertion. Wise choice.

That beer is the only thing I miss about not having to travel to Atlanta for work anymore.

Okay, maybe Brick Store Pub.

And Decatur Package Store.

Atlanta has come a long way over the past year or so. With new breweries like Scofflaw, Orpheus and Three Taverns I'm always ready for another trip there. Thankfully their crazy laws are changing also, finally allowing breweries to sell beer without going through a distributor first.
