So I bit the bullet and bought an Idle Hands 6 pack. It's certainly not at the level of the best batches I've had, but right now it's still fairly tasty and I think it was worth the money at least. Seems like this one could drop off pretty quickly though. Kind of reminds me of a not as boozy Nimble Giant.

And I don't think that it's ever been the same beer twice; not sure why they keep rebooting it, as a few of the early iterations were really good.

Is anyone on here attending or pouring at the North Hills Brew Fest this weekend? I'm imagining the turn out and quality of the beer could vary drastically.

Our homebrew group is going. I think there's a big turnout as far as homebrewers, like 18 or something? Should be fun. I'm not sure if the hosts did much of any advertising for this since most people seem to be finding the event on our page as the host didn't post anything.

They've canned it twice now (I think?) and pretty sure they retooled it in between cannings. I'm under the impression that it was bumped from scratch to seasonal as well, but the cans I've had don't near the earlier draft versions. I'm just not looking forward to it given my recent experience.

Guess I wish they'd stop dicking around and settle on a working recipe.

Grist House New Beer Wednesday: Flood Line IPA!

Had a few Hazedelic the other night and while the name is comically bad, the beer is easily the best I've had from them. Curious to see if that was a sign of good things to come.

This beer is, indeed, fire. Drink it whenever you see it.

Also fire was Alpha Effect from Heavy Seas. On cask, if you can.

Is it me or have the cubbies gotten a bit more whiny? I saw Rizzo whining about balls and strikes. And Javy hanging out on second long after getting called out (and getting picked off the play before but getting the call) and everyone's already headed to their dugouts.

I've not really had a whole lot to complain about with the cubs being so good...until today. ******* are whiny. **** the Cubs.
