I really need to make it to hitchhiker I have not been there since not out that way to much but diffently need to make a trek out their from what I am hearing on here.
DO NOT BE FOOLED, CLEARLY THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN DRUGGED! If you do shoot me a DM if you want to see our stainless garbage cans.

brother rebus I did not get a chance to try them unfortunately, ran out of time. My fiance is from Saltsburg so we generally have to go to Delmont to get craft beer. I will be going there frequently when visiting her family. Interested to see what others thought.

The only newer upcoming brewery that stood out to me was Helicon.
A guy on another site was saying he thought Helicon's lagers were not "clean" enough, like they used ale yeast instead of lager. That's not been my experience at all, but did you get anything to that effect?

troygreer did Hoppin Frog still have a decent amount of Rocky Mtn Boris and Doris available for sale yesterday? My buddy has a relative close to there and we were going to grab a few but do not want to send them if they are not available. I always enjoy the BA Hoppin Frog beers.

Yes they did, as with most BA Hoppin Frog releases, they seem to have a lot. They both were excellent and worth grabbing. Wish I would have known, I could have grabbed you a few bottles.

Also grabbed a El Frogquistador, an ale aged for nine months in Spanish brandy barrels and a Rum Barrel Boris to see how they are.

Don't worry when they run out you can buy it next year for 5x the cost

I have no problem with them holding back some for "vintage" sales. It is a product in demand and i'd rather have it go to the brewery than some neckbeards pocket.
I agree 100%. Actually, with the way the ridiculous secondary market is going, i foresee a lot more of this being practiced. I'm a big fan of in house consumption for limited release bottles as well.

You two realize you're talking about Hoppin Frog right? There is no secondary market.

Very true. I was more making a point about vintage sales.

I think they are a great brewery and I'm bummed that they don't get more respect. I'd drink them over any other Ohio brewery, no contest.

I was speaking in general terms. It would be awesome if all the great breweries had their limited beers available for in house consumption, for example, if you visited goose island and they had bcbs variants available in house, as opposed to just honkers ale on draft.

I am a hoppin frog fan as well, but their prices are a little on the steep side.

Their BA stouts are better than 95% of the special releases that get all the respect. I am fine with them flying under the radar and not holding trade value.

Fat Head's?

Oh for sure. I enjoy some of Fat Head's stuff but as most of you know, I am not a fan of Head Hunter or their stouts. So as a complete line, I'd take Hoppin Frog. I have really enjoyed what they have been doing with the Teeny Tiny Test Batch IPA's.

Yeah I mean, I don't mind vintage sales at all, but something about them jacking the price to like $60 for 1 year of "cellaring" sucks. I understand why though. Can't be mad at them for doing it, if people are buying it. You can go to Westbrook and drink Mexican Cake variants for like $200 so why not.

Hair of the Dog does a good job with this.

I've never had anything from Hoppin' Frog. I've always wanted to try one of their BA offerings, but just haven't gotten around to it.

In House would definitely help idiots from reselling stuff online

I think the most expensive beers on the menu are Boris Van Wink and Boris Royale. The other vintages are in the $20-30 range.

I just like the idea of there being some sort of incentive to the customer for visiting the brewpub. Let's face it, a lot of breweries are known solely for their limited release stuff that seems to come out once a year with a whole lot of ******** attached to it.

This is what Cory King is doing with Side Project. According to a guy I trade with from there, they might be shifting a lot of releases to not even be available to go. Lots of guys are just getting fed up with the reselling.
