We had the 08B the other weekend and it was horrible. I remember kind of digging the burnt notes, but those bottles just turned into straight poop.

Good to see we have gone from home of one of the most sought after barleywines to a barleywine desert. Way to go EE.

When someone says barleywine I tend to think English style rather than American.

Haven’t had it in years, but I recall enjoying Insanity and seeing it on the shelves recently. I also saw East End had their BA Gratitude cans for sale. Great Divide periodically has bottles of their BA stuff too. Not a barley wine, but their BA Rye Brown Ale was tasty and scratched that itch.

I had that great divide last night and it was definitely good. Now that their ba bottles are more reasonably priced 12 ouncers they're a decent option.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Devout Brewing out my neck of the woods says they have a barleywine that will be released soon. Hope to try that. Although I never had anything from them so don’t know what to expect.

That was a tough bottle to sip on when it first was released. I can only imagine what it’s like now.

Best barleywine from them for me was forced carbed Flatitude.
