Wait, you can't just buy a regular bottle of Blanton's in the store anymore? Did Booker's get expensive enough to stay on shelves?

The liquor stores near my house and work both seem to keep a decent inventory but the big one in shadyside sells out of anything decent right away. Elijah Craig barrel proof sat on the shelf for a year in McCandless but seems to sell out in every other store.

I've not seen Blanton's in any store around here in ages.
True story...I had been watching and waiting for Blanton's to come back in stock. It did so in December and I made it to a large store which had it in stock. Looked on the shelves and saw nothing so I asked and was told they were being held for folks.

I did score both single barrel bottles that were listed in this week's email, so I am way less salty about it now.

Deep thought: was southern tier light years ahead of the game with the now defunct choklat & creme brulee? Isn’t the sickly sweet desert quality of these beers the basis the pastry stout is currently thriving on? Bring them jawns back, age them in the spirit barrels from their own distillery. Would it be any good?

I think london1o1 posited this a while back, at least the "diabeetus stouts before it was cool" part. And I agree.

I've seen Blanton's in McCandless and Greentree in the past few months.

Haven't seen it in Murrysville, Monroeville or North Huntingdon in ages. Having said that, it is funny how certain bottles can be found at some stores on a regular basis and fly off the shelves in others.

Platform, sly fox and brew dog all opening tap rooms in Pittsburgh. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of excitement. Should we be betting on when the first one goes under?

It is very strange. I can grab you some Blanton's next time I see it if you want.

Appreciate it. I just got the 2 single barrel FWGS picks they listed this week, so I am good for a while.
Nice. Did you get two separate picks? I've yet to have a store pick that's much different from a regular release but I still have a baby pallete when it comes to bourbon.

Yes, the barrel 77 & 206. Never had anything besides the standard, so looking forward to them.

Does BrewDog even distribute here?

Maybe now I can get the beer they promised me over a year ago when I made the mistake of buying "shares" in that stupid brewery.

And what's up with people trading good beer for some Pittsburgh Cookie Table Prairie commissioned beer? I feel like there are a lot of new beer traders getting grifted by a handful of elite beer brokers.

But there's only 440 bottles!!!

FTFY. We all knew he couldn't wait to unload those Magicks.
