The motto with Voodoo has always been "the beer will be available when it's ready." I highly doubt they even glance at when other breweries are releasing. Focus on their product and continue growth vs worrying what others are doing. Only a few seem to think there is a reason behind it all. Oh well, whatever keeps those entertained. There have been quite a few Voodoo releases right on the heels of BG releases over the past year plus. Could be coincidence, maybe not. Dont think it matters either way.
So did anyone actually try the ******* thing? Two BRC releases in as many weeks and barely a whiff of a comment about either of them.
Didn’t the Voodoo account talk smack about the first Doublemex release in this very thread a few years back? Pretty sure that’s where part of the alleged beef comes from. Not that it really matters.
Lucked out and got one of the bottles since I had taken the day off. It’s fantastic. Still want to try the coffee one.
Yeah I searched back through and couldn't find any talks like that from the voodoo account. I know tommyguz and I mentioned how we tried DoubleMex that first year and he got a hint of green pepper (which probably came from how the coffee was added, I've noticed it in Bourbon County Coffee). My recollection was that it was good but enjoyed the regular Mexican Coffee a shade more. I wanted more booziness from a BA beer, but did enjoy the touch of added sweetness. Then people got mad at us for not giving it 5/5 and specifically trying to crap on BG, which was not the intention at all. Don't know if that's the smack talk in reference? No, for the record the Voodoo account did not. People associated with the brewery that may or may not work occasionally with them may have.
I was wondering how they were going to handle expanding there pubs and trying to spread the barrel collection around. Previously stated, but there is no perfect science to releases![]()

I have to go to this thing at the Duquesne Club tonight. I guess they have pretty nifty scotch and bourbon available so I'm excited to go and see what I can imbibe while I pretend to be wealthy.
hahah right on man, sounds like a good time, let me know if you get to try anything that's super awesome.
Sure, something like that. Old news now.
My buddy “won” a GTS is the lottery. Any other winners?
Just looked at IG, Voodoo has released 10 BRC beers to date just this year ....?Most probably come up empty handed. I know that I have missed out on a number of VooDoo releases. Some of it is timing, some is just not being available. Honestly it feels like if you are not within shouting distance of a location at the time of announcement then you miss out. This is not a knock, but it does seem like production has dropped, or at least not expanded as their footprint has.
Think it was pretty clear dtx00 was referring to the availability of each release, not the total number of releases. I think batch size may have increased as well, but maybe not commensurate with how many new locations have popped up.Just looked at IG, Voodoo has released 10 BRC beers to date just this year ....?
Red wine.was there a gnvp this year?
Going backwards ... Vanilla BA BBVD, Coffee BA BBVD, Caution, K13-Vanilla, K13-Rye, Willet(silver) BM, Red Wine GNVP, BA Quad, Zangief, 4Roses (red) BMThink it was pretty clear dtx00 was referring to the availability of each release, not the total number of releases. I think batch size may have increased as well, but maybe not commensurate with how many new locations have popped up.
But now I'm curious, and trying to remember all 10. K13x2, BM, Caution, BBVDx2... was there a gnvp this year? What else am I missing? It's been a loooong year.
Listen guy, I like the cut of your jib and I hope we remain friends for ages fo come.
To set it straight. No. I didn't talk smack about it. I drank it with stakem together at his house along with the regular version. Both of us didn't like the barrel aged version as much as the regular version. Didn't rate it 5/5. People on here got mad and we were privately messaged by the brewer of the beer saying we were trying to drive their untappd scores down and that what we tasted was wrong and that multiple bottles with folks from around the us were nothing but spectacular and that rating beers of different styles higher means they are far superior than double mex.
Yet, I still go there for beers and buy beer from them. No beef here from me. It's you guys on here that like to think there is some sort of beef *shrug*
For ***** sake...
What a memory. Throwback to that time when I was told my opinion was wrong and I commandeer the hype train.
If anyone needs me, ill be making bell pepper and coffee tinctures in an effort to recalibrate my palate.
Brb I'm gonna go Google "tinctures".
When I run out of simcoe hops, I just add a couple dribbles of that to my ipas.Is that the new IPA at Dry Log? I hear it's dank AF.

I don't know if it's so much that production hasn't increased but rather people are more on the ball with social media alerts and make the mad dash. Beer has changed so much of the last several years. I remember days when GNVP would last 3 days (2pp). Now stuff is gone in just over an hour. Probably similar or slightly higher total bottle count now but SO many more people rushing to get it as Voodoo has become more well known for their BRC beers.london1o1 is correct. I enjoy the offerings VooDoo has put out and am actually a little disappointed that I have missed so many. I would like to see a breakdown of bottles sold per location. I would imagine Homestead would lead the pack with Meadville not far behind. I thought that once they opened the Grove City location that would increase my chances of landing some of these. I have been able to attempt 2 releases there; landed the second allocation for K13 and missed the big release. That was the point of that comment. For the record, I also still have a problem with how they predetermine allocations. Also where are all the sours they started making?
