If my primary fermentation is being done in a bucket without a spigot, what is the best way to transfer the beer into the secondary or bottling bucket without exposing it to too much air. I have an auto-siphon, but are there any other recommendations. Any feedback is greatly appreciated

:mug: You are refering to racking, pitching is what you do with:mug: yeast When the primary is done, just use a long enough hose to reach the bottom of the secondary and the auto-siphon.

A siphon is required! I can't think of any other way to get beer from one vessel to another, without a spigot. Even with a spigot, I still rack, so I avoid the trub that can fill the spigot.

For years, I didn't have an autosiphon, I just did the "fill the tubing with water, and start the siphon" technique. I was a winemaker first, so starting a siphon was easy for me after practicing for so long. I didn't even use a racking cane at first, but found that made it easier to siphon from above the trub without sucking any up.

I bought an autosiphon a couple of years ago, and am now a convert!
