I use a second coil of copper in a bucket of ice water. With a counter flow wort chiller.

I'm going to give this a shot with my immersion chiller. I was using the hose to get it down close to 100F or so, then using Ice water and a pump to get it down to pitching temps. I think it will go faster if I just prechill the hose water with a second immersion chiller in ice water

Sometimes ill stop the pump to the wort and let the ice water keep going in order to bring it back down if it gets to hot.

I circulate the wort thru the 40 plate chiller back to kettle while i run the hose water to bring it down to 100... then run ice water thru with a pump while i pump the wort into thru chiller into carboy. down to 70 degrees in 3 minutes for 10 gallons.

If i have 30 lbs of ice i can get it all from post boil to under 70 in 3 minutes. That is running a pump for ice water and a pump for wort. But to get it at pitching temp and not go under 70 degrees i have to throttle both pumps.

On the ice water I use 1/3HP subpump with a regular water hose and the wort side I use the march pump with half inch silicone with cam locks

Ill upgrade my ice water pump. I am using a chugger pump on the wort side.

Finished it wet tested it and passed. Brewing a raspberry pale tomorrow!

Hello from this newbie, also in Peoria. Just starting with 1 gallon brewing. I'm not a big beer drinker, so I am going to stay relatively small.

Does anybody use 12oz bottles? I have 4 cases (96 bottles) I got when I purchased a bunch of equipment from a guy leaving the hobby. We only bottle in bombers and will be kegging here soon, so I have no use for them. They are dusty as they've been sitting for a while in storage from the guy I bought them from. Anybody interested?

I go there for little stuff and wait for the store in anthem to give 20% off, then I go there for bigger purchases

I do 10 gallon batches and get my grain from there. However i craiglist and online ahop for materials.
