Just putting my finishing touches on my Brutus 10 Clone, and the last thing I need to buy is a pH meter.

I was thinking about buying one that I could put into my control panel. Just trying to figure out the cons and pros of a panel pH meter vs a handheld pH meter? And if there are any decent panel pH meter out there for a reasonable price?

Any advice is appreciated.

Ok I'll throw my opinion in here as I have a B10 and at one point I was trying to incorporate a pH setup behind the mashtun. I work with a number of PhD analytical chemists, all of whom know way more about it than me (I'm only a masters in ChemE) and they all said, even if my meter has ATC, I'm better off taking out a sample of the mash in a beaker and perform the measurement as the sample cools below 100F. They claim the membrane in an electrode will degrade in higher temperature environments. I think they may be right as I was doing it in situ for awhile and my first electrode took a dump and needed to be replaced. pH is very temperature dependent and should be done as close to 75F as possible, even in the meter can compensate for it (most do).

I now have a pH meter setup on a nearby table and I do it with a beaker like was suggested and I haven't had any problems since.
