Perlick Faucets. Favorites?

Setting up my first kegerator... tower came with 2 standard basic taps... When it comes time to replace them (may replace them sooner than later) what is your favorite Perlick model and why? I see there are several model #s but I can't tell differences. 410 425 525 575.

OK 410 looks like a standard econo tap, & 575 is the creamer, 425 & 525 not sure of differences.

Anyone use the creamer model? (575 I think) Do they do ok with wheat beers? or would you serve wheats from standard tap? I do mostly ales... but mix in some other styles and have several wheats per year... 575 a specialty tap or all arounder?

Most people talk about the 425, 525 and 575s. The 425 is the older style foward seal faucet that was replaced by the 525. Some like the 525 better but some like the 425 better as the spout can be unscrewed. As far as the 575s, they are indeed creamer faucets. They essentially work and look exactly the same as a 525 but you have the option of pushing the tap handle backwards at the end of the pour which jets the beer through a small orrifice and puts a creamy head on the beer. I have 6 of the 575s and I love them. They are all great though.

Like scut said, the 425s are the older style ... I prefer the 425s over the 525s because the spout can be unscrewed (easier for cleaning), and I think they just look better than the newer ones.

I always liked the look of the 525s and 575s more. It's a matter of opinion largely which faucets you get. Mechanically they are all forward sealing with a small amount of moving parts.

Also last I heard the 425's are being discontinued. I have 3 of the 525's. They work great.
