I've been aware of this chart for a while, but I haven't seen anyone on hbt, or anywhere else for that matter, comment on it. I thought it might be interesting to see some reactions to it. I'm still pretty much a beer neophyte, but I like the idea that the styles can be arranged spacially, in such a way as to accurate reflect levels of difference between them. I'm also a big nerd and just like the idea of adapting the periodic table of the elements for beer and ale.

What do you think? How could it be improved?

The mixed styles should be numbered as the space between ale and lager. And they should have gone more ale-like on the left to more lager-like on the right. Other than that, it's a pretty cool idea. I would hang it on my wall.

I printed the full size version, taped it together, and hung it in my brewshed (garage).

It's roughly 6'x3'

A few months ago I went to the print desk at my university (LSU) and had them print this in standard poster size on high quality paper. Cost me $7 and looks nice in my garage. :rockin:
