Hey everyone! For my next beer I'm thinking about a pecan pie porter. I think I'll add a pound or 2 of honey towards the end of the boil, and put some pecans in the secondary. Any thoughts? Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a good base recipe? Hopefully something that will give me a taste of pie crust!

Only time i have ever used nuts in a beer was when i tried to make a Pecan Nut Brown Ale. Havent tasted it yet but i did a lot of research before hand and figured the best course of a ction is to roast the nuts before use and to dry them on paper towels. The nuts are full of fatty acids and other oils and these oils will demolish any head retention you may be looking for in a beer.
