Hi All
I would like to do 13 liter partial mash. At present my equipment is limited to a 10.6 liter boil pot as i have a small kitchen and a 7 liter esky which i would like to use as a mash tun. As i am limited to my boil size i have to top up the FV with water. What affect is this going to have on the bitterness and final gravity. Have been looking on the net for info but unable to find much. Would i be able to use the kit and kilo spread sheet to formulate the recipe. At present i use brewmate to formulate a 18 liter all grain recipe then resize it to a 13 liter recipe using 9.8 liter as boil size. My evaporation rate is about 1.6 liters for 60mins. At this point i reduce the base malt quantity and bring the gravity up to original gravity with dry malt extract.
