I am trying to create a recipe (1st time) for an oatmeal stout. Here is what i have so far..
#1
Malts/Fermentables
% lb oz
74% 6 9 Dark Liquid Extract
11% 1 0 Oats, Flaked
6% 0 8 Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L
6% 0 8 Roasted Barley
3% 0 4 Chocolate Malt
Hops
boil 60 mins 1.0 Goldings, East Kent
boil 60 mins 1.0 Fuggles
boil 15 mins 0.25 Goldings, East Kent
IBUs
24.7
Yeast
Wyeast #1084 Irish ale yeast
Since I am using a dark LME, I went lighter on barley and malts
And I don't want it to be overly hoppy so i went with "Mild" hops
I am new to brewing (this will be my 3rd batch) so i am looking for some constructive criticism/ thoughts/ suggestions
THANKS
