I'm on my 4th PM BIAB and wondering how to improve wort clarity. Since im mashing and sparging in/over the same pot, i can't easily recirculate the wort through the grains to reduce haze. Is there a solution to this other than rigging up a seperate tun?

I'm assuming you already use Whirlfloc or Irish Moss late in the boil. That will reduce chill haze in your finished beer.

My BIAB batches are pretty cloudy with suspended trub before, during, and after the boil. But if you let it sit for 10-15 minutes it gets really clear from the top down (post boil). This all settles out in the fermentor and has no impact to taste. But when moving to full volume BIAB, I had about 0.4-0.5 gallons of higher trub loss in my fermenter.

I have since added a fine voile BIAB bag that goes outside of my paint strainer bag. I have reduced this extra trub by 80% by making this change. So switching to a finer mesh bag may help you.

I personally use a paint strainer bag (the same type I brew with for BIAB) when I transfer the wort from kettle to fermentor. Additionally, when the beer is ready to be bottle I chill it to below 50 degrees for at least 48 hours and then bottle. Since taking the extra time to do both my beer has cleared up significantly.
