Oxyclean/alternatives question

Hi!

I've got another newbie question here and hopefully someone will help.

I've been reading a lot about cleaning and oxyclean seems to be very popular. I can't find it in the UK, however, I can find sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate.
Suppose I mix them 50-50, then how much of the powder do I need to put per gallon of water?

I would try 1 tablespoon as a starting point. If that's too strong, cut back. If it doesn't clean well, try a little more.
