OK. I've had this brew in the primary going on 5 weeks now. Was going to bottle 2 weeks ago, but haven't been able to get to my nearest LHBS, which is an hour away. Wanted to dry hop Simcoe and Amarillo, but they were out of both. I ended up dropping 3 ounces of Cascade in tonight.

Is this an overkill? I have not dry hopped all that often, and when I have, it hasn't been much. But I'm thinking this is going to be just right.

This is what it's going in...

- 6 lbs Pilsen DME
- 8 oz 40L

- 1 oz Columbus (60 min)
- .5 oz Amarillo (15 min)
- .5 oz Simcoe (15 min)
- .5 oz Amarillo (1 min)
- .5 oz Simcoe (1 min)
- 3 oz Cascade (Dryhop 3 days)

6.3% ABV

"Too much" is really subjective, but I NEVER use less than 3oz dry hop for an IPA.

Just right. Usually, I cold hop with more than that, up to 1 oz per gallon.
