Hi all,

This is my first time kegging my cider, and it seems that it's not carbonating the way I expected. I tried to do the quick shake method: I put the regulator up to 30 psi and shook the keg by rolling it for 10 min. Then I let it sit overnight at 30psi and it didn't seem carbonated. I let it sit another night or 2 and it just foams up a bunch and when the foam dissipates i'm left with a flat cider. Any suggestions? I know there's a thread about this somewhere but I can't find it. Also the keg is in my garage, so it's cold (30-40's).

I'm having the same issue regarding carbonation retention. Curious to see what the solution to this is as well.

Seems like it's carbed up when pouring as it acts like a soda pouring from a can but when it settles out after 30 seconds it seems flat.
CO2 has been set at 17PSI for 2 weeks and kegerator temp is 38*.

I knocked the pressure down to 8PSI & relieved pressure in keg to serve. What gives?

Mine seemed to start getting a little better, but i had to go back to school. So i left it with 10 pounds on it and i'll see what it's like in 2 weeks. Surprised yours isn't carbed after 2 weeks at 17 pounds...is it cold? I guess that helps it.

Yeah, I keep it set at 38* so it should be carbed up, maybe its just different from beer. Its my first cider I've kegged. Hopefully its got enough time before a christmas party in 2 weeks.
