Which post is in and out on a 3 gallon keg? I forgot to mark them once converting it to ball lock

The one with the notch is supposed to be the gas post. This is assuming the correct dip tubes were installed with corresponding posts.

Edit: Also why I prefer pin locks, I can't put the wrong disconnect on. Now if only Coke would release that patent...

On any ball lock keg, regardless of size, the post with notches around the hex or 12-point wrenching section indicates a gas post.

Might be a good idea to remove one of the posts and confirm you placed them over the proper dip tubes. Sticking a gas post over the long dip tube will definitely result in a bad time ;)

Cheers!

I actually carbonated this one with sugar and didnt want to release the pressure. I did put the gas on the correct post ( yeah me)! Thanks for the help. 11 month old barrel aged English Barleywine taste fantastic.

I have a saying about the o-rings colors on the quick disconnects that I use as a reminder.

Gray Gas, Black Beer.

To my knowledge there is no such thing as gray beer, but there's lots of black beer.
