newbie here... I've made a batch with a Mr. Beer kit in the past, and recently decided to get myself a 6gallon starter kit from the local supply store.
The sales guy then sold me a 1.5kg morgan's canadian light extract and kg of corn sugar. After reading taking the plastic lid off the extract can and reading the instructions, I see that the instructions call for the 1kg corn sugar to be added to the wort.
The problem is, I didn't realize that I was buying the sugar for the wort... I thought it was for carbonation.
My question is, do I have to use sugar to make the wort, or can I use another can of extract instead? If so, any suggestions on what kind and how much of extract to use in replace of that 1kg sugar?
