The list certainly couldn't have helped. Neophytes (relative or actual) lap that **** up. Take the Westy release, for example.Yes.

Neophytes aren't throwing down a grand on a single 12-ounce bottle (and Dave was worth that much when I started paying attention in 2011, IIRC).The list certainly couldn't have helped. Neophytes (relative or actual) lap that **** up. Take the Westy release, for example.

I just meant that seemingly definitive lists like this will certainly raise the profile of certain beers and likely the value. Collector's from other scenes would latch on to it as a reference.Neophytes aren't throwing down a grand on a single 12-ounce bottle (and Dave was worth that much when I started paying attention in 2011, IIRC).

That's only sort of true. Most of the time the beers on those lists are already extremely well known by the people who would actually go after them, and most new blood into the scene won't have the resources to even consider getting them until they've been around enough to know about them list or no list. There are exceptions to this, of course, but the vast majority of new beer drinkers aren't people like GrumpyOldTroll who get into and dominate the whale game really quickly. And it's hard to run the counterfactual where there's no beer lists, so it's hard to say if they'd end up at a similar endpoint even if the list didn't exist.I just meant that seemingly definitive lists like this will certainly raise the profile of certain beers and likely the value. I'm definitely not above it, I certain researched a lot of the beers on the list that I hadn't previously been aware of. Of course that probably makes me a relative neophyte.

Dave was big **** back in like 2008, when I first heard the story. I dunno if it would have sold for a G back then, but it was certainly desirable.
This has to be in the running:

A lot of sours might qualify for fancy Vinegar.![]()
I was just joking. If you get to the point of an actual Claims person who is the last stop between you and a claim check, this defense will absolutely not work if they have any evidence of what you sent. I've made two claims in all of my beer shipping - one was paid because the box disappeared (but this took about 2 months). The other was destroyed but they listed exact contents, year of production, importer, etc. on the claim itself. I tried many defenses but was ultimately denied by the claims manager because I couldn't prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that the liquid in the box contained zero alcohol. He even pronounced 'geuze' correctly and was googling things I was saying.
Bottom line - it's very risky shipping expensive **** with alcohol in it, even if you're careful.
That's when you know you're ******.He even pronounced 'geuze' correctly .
How are we sure it's correct? I don't think anyone knows how to pronounce it for sure. That's when you know you're ******.
It's pronounced "geuze"How are we sure it's correct? I don't think anyone knows how to pronounce it for sure.
Gur-tza?
Gur-za?
Gooze?
Goo-za?
Also means you get to drink all the beer...It's pronounced "geuze"
As long as you're like me and drink alone to avoid ever having the opportunity to say it, you'll be fine. I only have internet friends
So your number one rule all are supposed to follow is based on YOUR vast (what a whole 2 years?) shipping experience?I have never had an incident with fedex. Twice ive had boxes with missing bottles and repackaged however this was the outcome from one ups location so maybe this was an isolated incident

Goddamnit, FML, why do I take the bait?
Not fishing for likes, zero ***** given, merely pointing out that your experience may not be the same for everyone since it's based on your short shipping experience. Some of us have shipped a hell of a lot more than you and may have a differing viewpoint. The real question is why are you commenting? I am simply replying to a question directed to me... in two years ive shipped over 300 packages including a whole bunch in excess value of "$1k. So take your" bait" and fish for likes elsewhere
Some say Joel66 is a master baiter.
Goozy?

I ship all my trades UPSRule #1, dont ship these bottles via UPS... Fedex only.
Rule #2, ship next day air
Rule #3, create a label with a business account and ship to a business address. From my experience their is much less incidents when delivering to and froma company.
I ship all my trades UPS
including a Dave back during that 10 bottle release fiasco. I've done over a 100 trades and no problems whatsoever. I did do next day air with the Dave because of value. I think it depends on your area. Just throwing my 2cents in.
