Can we get a ruling levifunk ?

Let's get a ruling:
https://web.archive.org/web/20070622070009/http://ec.europa.eu/agriculture/qual/en/tsg_08en.htm

https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=LEGISSUM:l66043

TSGs recognised at European level are entered into a register, which is kept by the Commission. They are divided into two lists according to whether or not the use of the name is reserved to those producers who comply with the product specification. A product may only be registered if:
  • it is produced using traditional raw materials;
  • it is characterised by a traditional composition or by a method of production/processing that corresponds to a traditional production/processing method.
In order to be registered, the name must:
  • be specific in itself;
  • indicate the specific character of the agricultural product or foodstuff.
You can make lambic and geuze anywhere in the world. Horal would love to try and tell you you can't but they don't have a leg to stand on.

Some dude posted that he was in search of big J Wakefield or Angry Chair pastry stouts over there. I posted if he would be interested in Bake Kujira and he private messaged me and said he could do 4 cans of Juice Machine and throw in a few Curiosity 63. I didn't reply until a few days later where I just laughed at him and told me that he "doesn't appreciate jokes at his expense".

4/27/18. So not as much as a noob as one would think.

What a baby though. So many insufferable, self-important whiners over there. Some people take this **** way too seriously.

Too be fair I would venture to say that BA (and their mods) have cultivated a community of users that is all "very serious talk only" and fun/sarcasm/jokes are not allowed.

It's like in The Matrix where the machines are harvesting human beings and shaping their way of life from birth. If BeerAdvocate was your first and still is your only outlet for beer talk, the percentages of being a complete tool are very high.

Agreed - very srs business. I enjoy reading the "Trade Value Tuesday" thread. "I won the Ann lottery. Do you think I could trade it for BBT+?" Also lots of arguing about how many VRU (Vanilla Rye Units, since selling discussions are forbidden there, and 1 VRU = $200) certain things are worth.

Holy ****, that's really a thing, just looked. Oh how I wish I could post in that thread. How do I unlock that "privilege"?

It's almost funny that the broader culture outside of BA has moved to cash transactions, but since BA is (apprently still?) the largest marketplace that business needs to be conducted with a UoM that everyone agrees is in reference to cash transaction but officially it is not.

sub-question: what's dumber, VRU or "razzle"?
sub-sub-question: Why is Vanilla Rye still the benchmark??

Vanilla Rye is the fiat currency of beer. It's valuation is just something that came to be and everyone agrees on. It's backed solely by the full faith and credit of the shitlord community.

WEIRD, but fair.

I guess you're hard-pressed to find a beer that is reasonably well desired, does not have multiple vintages and also was broadly distributed. What gets me is that nothing has usurped it yet.

Also, can we infer from this fact that 2014 was the high water mark of BCBS?

But what sucks is that VRUs don’t fully incorporate ISUs (International Shipping Units) or ICUs (Improper Cellaring Units). Can you come up with an additional metric that deviates the VRU based on these metrics?

if by that you mean the last year they sold good beer (barring 15 rare which was brewed well before 2015), then yes.

This is coming from someone who was offering a four pack of Juice Machine and a few other Tree House cans for Bake Kujira. My original reply should have been that I had just closed it with another poster.

"Hey, remember all that stuff for years that we said was off-limits to discussion because 'check the name on the door' or whatever? Turns out we care more about page clicks and money than any sort of principled position and we're worried about losing you to other sites or Facebook groups, so here you go!"

spotted a familiar name as the last post in this thread:

Lutter said:
Jester King Buddha's Brew was so damn good. Sour wheat beer blended with Buddha's Brew Kombucha.

Hopefully they'll make more... I'm down to my last bottle I'm saving for a special occasion.

There's an off-topic forum now too. No politics or religion, I'm sure they'll change that policy once click rates drop again.

Everything over there is followed by a "cHeErS!!" as if that makes everything better.

At least when its people arguing back and forth in a thread. Didnt go back to see if any of these 'respect beer society membership' announcements ended that way too.

I have no idea if this is off (I am assuming it is), I just found the comment response part by OP to be funny.
There's also just incorrect information in that back and forth. I don't know what the price tag on Jifforia (which a quick search informs me is a not-at-all-good-sounding pastry stout with peanut butter) was, but Cellar members had the opportunity to buy two extra bottles of A Thousand Summers at $35/per. Whoever's willing to swap $70 worth of a very good saison for that would be, in my estimation, making a mistake. But what do I know?
