TSGs recognised at European level are entered into a register, which is kept by the Commission. They are divided into two lists according to whether or not the use of the name is reserved to those producers who comply with the product specification. A product may only be registered if:

• it is produced using traditional raw materials;
• it is characterised by a traditional composition or by a method of production/processing that corresponds to a traditional production/processing method.

In order to be registered, the name must:

• be specific in itself;
• indicate the specific character of the agricultural product or foodstuff.

Too be fair I would venture to say that BA (and their mods) have cultivated a community of users that is all "very serious talk only" and fun/sarcasm/jokes are not allowed.

It's like in The Matrix where the machines are harvesting human beings and shaping their way of life from birth. If BeerAdvocate was your first and still is your only outlet for beer talk, the percentages of being a complete tool are very high.

It's almost funny that the broader culture outside of BA has moved to cash transactions, but since BA is (apprently still?) the largest marketplace that business needs to be conducted with a UoM that everyone agrees is in reference to cash transaction but officially it is not.

I guess you're hard-pressed to find a beer that is reasonably well desired, does not have multiple vintages and also was broadly distributed. What gets me is that nothing has usurped it yet.

Also, can we infer from this fact that 2014 was the high water mark of BCBS?

But what sucks is that VRUs don’t fully incorporate ISUs (International Shipping Units) or ICUs (Improper Cellaring Units). Can you come up with an additional metric that deviates the VRU based on these metrics?

if by that you mean the last year they sold good beer (barring 15 rare which was brewed well before 2015), then yes.

There's also just incorrect information in that back and forth. I don't know what the price tag on Jifforia (which a quick search informs me is a not-at-all-good-sounding pastry stout with peanut butter) was, but Cellar members had the opportunity to buy two extra bottles of A Thousand Summers at $35/per. Whoever's willing to swap $70 worth of a very good saison for that would be, in my estimation, making a mistake. But what do I know?
