Has anyone else noticed BA barely functions anymore? Everything loads super slow or fails to load at all... It's really ******* with my trolling.

Holy **** I troll posted in all caps and tawd that the website was broken and it got deleted, I was called crazy, and for some reason the website began running smoothly for me.

Nerds, could they have been IP slowing me? Let the trolling commence.

IT WORKS!

Can't get the secondary price of vanilla being so high. In the last 3 days I've seen at least 10 trades where they were trading/selling a case of vanilla. Must be a **** ton of that stuff being released.

Yeah it seems like everyone is getting some vanilla. I know several stores in/around Pgh got it and variants are usually pretty lean around here.

I'm coming into town Dec 2-5th for a work trip and am hoping to do an In Person trade for some Cali Stouts/Sours. Ideally looking for Bottle Logic, Eclipse Variants, BA Speedway, Parabajava, etc. Looking to go $4$ per BeerBlackBook.com's pricing.

Here's a partial list of what I've got in the cellar off the top of my head, and I'll update it in more detail when I get a chance:

Surly Darkness (2014-2018) - one of each year

Surly Barrel Aged Darkness (2016, 2017) x2 of each year

Surly SEVVIN x2

Surly EIGHT (Artist signed bottle) x1

Surly Barrel Aged TEN x1

Surly ELEVEN x1

Surly Double Barrel Pentagram x1

Liftbridge BA Silhouette (2017 and 2018) - one of each year

Bent Paddle Double Black (2014) x1

Bent Paddle Doubleshot Double Black (2016 -2018) - one of each year

Bell's 30th Anniversary Ale x2

Bell's Black Note (2017) x2

Founders KBS (2017) x3

Founders CBS (2018) x2

Shoot me a message if you're interested. Thanks in advance!

I imagine the artist signed EIGHT is at least $100 more than the regular?

So many great lines used in here!

"I'm not insulting anyone. I'm simply being practical. But **** it, maybe I'll just snag the next bottle off the Pappy list at work, and make everyone on the list suffer from it"
That guy is a real gem - who has since deleted that thread. In addition to these horrible trade posts, he tried joining a large round BIF (BA's 12 Days of Christmas) but required sponsor due to lack of completed trades. I offered to sponsor him and provide guidance, assuming he was going to put in the effort (basically send a quality box), and he got all pissy when I said that the Chimay he had planned on featuring probably wasn't going to cut it.

You are probably lucky that he didn't take you up on your offer.

St Louis for sure. They tend to operate specifically to their own established "secondary" price structure. They actually get angry when someone does something outside the structure of secondary prices. It's kind of hilarious. This is all from their primary facebook tradepost. In this case they're operating on a bulk discount "price" of $50/bottle on Nilla so $600 in total as they feel that the secondary on BBT B2 is at least that.

I realize none of this makes sense, but there you have it. In their world it's totally logical.

I mean I paid the $40 retail price tag for BBT and I just hope it is worth that. I can't imagine folks getting in on these secondary price models.

What's crazy, I had BBT on tap that Mr. king brought to a take over here in NorCal. I thought it was very good. But marginally within range of a good year BCBS. Crazy what it goes for.

I've been impressed with it the several times I've had it, but yeah it's another in a long line of good BA stouts. We had a bottle of the 2017 edition this weekend, and I recall enjoying it more a year ago (basically a month after the release). Cory King is really good at blending stouts and as a result I find a lot of the ones I've had are great right out of the gate, but I don't really see why aging them would send them anywhere but down. But YMMV.

The secondary value on pretty much all rare St. Louis stuff is stupid, but especially the BA stouts. With Side Project it at least makes some sense given King's history and pedigree as a brewer (with Perennial and then SP), but now some St. Louis area brewery no one has heard of before will release a BA stout and the people that PHBoiler is talking about will immediately decide it's worth 3 c-notes or whatever.

That group has dipped its toe in the multiple hundred dollar value homebrewed stouts too. That's bonkers to me. I know the brewery you're talking about down there but can't think of the name. I've had none of their beers. They've started producing fruited berliners that those folks are trying to make into trade gold too.

The one thing that is crazy to me down there is that their obsession for the uber rare SP beers along with a slight uptick in production has allowed a crazy to go bottle list to grow at SP. I picked up some fruited 375 mL sours for the first time during BBT release. Probably 3 or 4 saisons available too. So it's not all bad down there.

Is it White Rooster? I think I heard about them making a sought-after stout.

That's one of them, Main & Mill is another, and who knows by this point there could be several more. I guess 2nd Shift's releases were just too high bottle count for that St Louis crew to do this with?

LOL, I'm not surprised at all. I'm sure that moron Chris Klien is also in there (although he may not be the one you're referring to, most people call ******** on his homebrews being worth what he claims).
