Good afternoon. I've been AG and extract brewing now for a while. I'm looking seriously at buying a used 2005 model Brew-Magic system. I know there are advantages to the new model, however, I am curious if anyone has experience with the older model and might elaborate on it's functionality. While I could buy a new system, I think for what I do, I might be happy with the older system and I am certain the used price is more appealing.

Thanks,

The newest Brew magic comes with thick gauge steel plates that are removable; it is a very handy upgrade. The new version has a new graphic user interface; it’s cool but not completely necessary for the RIMS to work properly. Other than that the older BM is very similar.

They haven't invented a new process for making beer since 2005, so it's probably fine. ;)

Thanks I was thinking 2004 or 2005 is when they switched to barley ...

Perfect. That helps.
