old corny keg

So I have a 10 gal corny keg that was my grand father in laws. I have rebuilt and cleaned it. Do I need / should I passivate it? If so, could I just run sanitizer in my corny keg / carboy washer for the 20 - 30 min?

you can clean it and sanitize with starsan and it should be fine... if it looks rough clean it with bar keepers friend from the grocery store.. that has an acid in it that will passivate the stainless as it cleaned it with a very mild abrasive polish.
