So, I'm thinking I want an oktoberfest beer for well october. I need to get started on it soon. Any suggestions on recipes you've enjoyed? Preferably extract kits from some sort of website, my local HBS is 50 miles away.

Just did Jamils O-Fest. Brewed on 27 July. Kegged 14 Aug. Been sneaking samples since Saturday and tastes pretty damn good. This was with a huge yeast pitch curtisy of a local brewery.
With the time now though, you might want to do a Moktoberfest with an ale yeast

I don't have the capability to do lagers so I can't brew one. But you should know that to do an "Oktoberfest" you have to brew the beer in March and lager it until late September early October. Anything else would be a "Moktoberfest".

Oktoberfast by biermuncher was pretty damn good.
And.....(sorry) Marzens are really supposed brewed in March to be sipped during oktoberfest in september.
That aside, (unless you posess a time machine) oktoberfast gets my vote. And NO, I don't have any left that I brewed in March.
