Pro brewers night = success. Good brewers were Black Raven, Naked City, Ninkasi, Firestone Walker, Alaska Brewing, etc. There were a lot of bigger brews that were good also, Sierra Nevada and New Belgium brought good offerings. Probably 30 breweries total?

Pictures, people! I can't be there this year, so I have to live vicariously through you. Please give us lots of photos, and it wouldn't hurt to see pictures of the swag as well!

More pics from today, the Going Pro seminar with Oakshire Brewing, Black Raven Brewing, Elysian Brewing and Heretic Brewing.

Here are a few, including brewing my commemorative beer at Rogue, my Wee Shroomy secondary and Tofu Pale Ale mash. I'll be serving those at club night tonight.

Denny, thanks for serving up some of that Rogue brew you had with you prior to the kick-off here the other day. Great to have met you and I enjoyed that brew. Was that yours or one of the commemorative beers for the NHC here?

It was brewed for one of the commemorative beers you get at registration, but we ended up short. It will be served during the awards banquet tomorrow.

Again, thanks for sharing! Hope to see you again here.

More pics. I apologize these are crap quality, but I'm toting around way too much stuff to include a nice camera as another item. Hopefully someone else took pics.

The wonderful AHA founder, current AHA president, author, homebrewer of 42 years, and great guy, Charlie Papazian, introducing the keynote speaker for the day:

Charles Finkle of Pike Brewing Company giving the keynote address. A very funny speaker who, as Charlie Papazian put it, essentially IS the great American beer pioneer, getting imports here, getting distribution of great beers and wines, and eventually forming Pike Brewing:

Club night was a great success! I'll have to post some pics when I get home.

Citra Galaxy Pale was definitely my favorite. I hope the brewer sends me his recipe. I also was convinced to drink a beermosa... carbonated Tang and Tripel. I felt like an astronaut. Lol

I have some as well, I was amazed at the quality of beer presented by the clubs present. A really, really good beer drinking time, and getting to meet some of the local clubs here was quite awesome. Props to the Canadian club who even had to pay tax on the beer they brought into the US for their booth.

As a balding American, I was deeply offended by the club who shaved a monk cut into their full heads of hair. That's commitment to the theme.

Don't forget their beer wenches! Haha. They sang me the song "Man Eater" when I got their Rye Saison, too funny.

A random assortment of pictures of Club Night. I was a bit inebriated, focus was not a priority. :drunk:

With this being my first conference I have to say I've learned a ton during these seminars, some of them in particular have been a great help for future brewing knowledge.

Last batch of pics. For those of you who couldn't make it, as a first timer here ... you have to do it. Such an awesome time, and so much great knowledge and information sharing.

The Troubleshooting seminar, chaired by Ray Daniels (far left), and answered by from left to right at the table, Jamil Zainasheff, Gordon Strong, Randy Mosher, and John Palmer. So much great information and they answered questions for help for well over an hour.

And finally, for the third time this conference, Denny, I get to thank you for a beer. Or at least your recipe, and man was it ever good. Thank you again.

what were some of the best beers? Who won club of the year?

Club of the year was the Brewing Network. Best beers I had there or the winners for the categories? The latter should be posted soon. The former I was a bit lit by the end of Club Night, but I remember some great brews from Cascade Brewer's Society, GEBL, HGSP, and several others. There was a ton of great beer, I don't think I could begin to narrow down the best. For what it's worth, I sampled for nearly 3 hours and had two pour-outs in that time. One had a bad flaw, the other was just ... rancid?

I thought the amount of sour beers this year was amazing. I probably tasted 10 different Flanders Reds. If I remember correctly one keg of Flanders Red that was served following pro night ran dry in about 20 min.
