This evening I bottled batch #013 and I have been brewing beer in my kitchen for 8 months. Batch 13 was a Brown Ale, the 4th time I have bottled this same brown ale (yes I like it and it was my very 1st HBT inspired recipe). While I was bottling I drank a few IPA's (Two Hearted Ale Clones using harvested Bell's yeast), tasty beer... very proud of that beer I am! So while I was bottling I realized just how much fun I was really having. I has doing something very pleasing to the senses (the brown ale was excellent even warm and flat), the smell was just delightful, and I was enjoying a drink I had created from raw ingredients with my own hand using equipment I had built myself, and a process I have developed. What a wonderful thing it is we do here.
So I pour myself a pale ale the 1st test of batch #012 and I raise a class of cold home brew to you... home brewers of the world...!

Thank You !!!

Ha! Got back from TC on Sunday about mid day and started picking and drying hops. That thing that I forgot that we were doing Sunday was hauling my mom's piano up to Cadillac, but the lady never got back with me until Sunday and changed her mind.

Normally I would lay window screen across the top my my trailer's box and blow a fan in through the back end, so I really wanted that piano out of there! I had to steal some cardboard from work and make a drying rack in the garage.

I know picking hops doesn't sound fun, but I enjoyed myself. I "made" my daughter come out and help (cause my calculations told me that I would be out quite late if I did it all myself) and we had what I hoped was an informative and uplifting talk about her senior year and the impending college and her transition from child to adult. I think (hoped) it helped set her mind at ease about our expectations and what she might experience as she begins to live her own life.

Just having come back from the TC beer and music festival (a MUST), I only had a glass or two of my hefe.
