yesterdaqy i brewed a milk chocolate stout from northern brewer my OG was suppose to be 1.051 and before fermenting it turned out to be 1.100 but my cooling down to temp had to be 100 degrees would this affect my OG reading

yes it needs to be as close to sixty degrees as u can get it then take your reading then in the instructions included with the hydrometer which im assuming u lost (which is something i would do) there r temp corrections which are
60=0
70=1
77=2
84=3
95=5
105=7
then you add that number at the third decimal (.001) so if your wort was at 100 degrees than u would it would become 1.100+.007=1.1007 so that being said

You need to use a them. but it wouldnt nock u down to anything close to where u thought u should be be so you should prolly try getting another reading and if it still says 1.100 congratulations your gonna have one hellavu potentially strong beer
keep me posted

Did you add the top off water and did you mix it well? Sounds like you either took a measure of your partial boil (before adding the top up water to read 5 or whatever the gallons the recipe is for) or your hydrometer is bad. Test your hydrometer is 60 degree water (or whatever the paper says it's calibrated. If none included assume 60 degree F).

yes i took the reading before i added the water... so i take a reading after i add it to the batch ok so its kool nothings to worry about i didnt **** anything up i greatly appreatice it thank u ill let u know what the outcome is today i get to brew another beer so i get to see how this one turn out also thank you again

Just try to mix it together well otherwise you're reading with be way under until the stuff eventually evens on it's own. For extract brewing the OG should be spot on unless you use less/more extract and/or less/more water to top off.

I brewed this one 4 weeks ago and my OG came to 1.053. After 4 weeks it's down to 1.023. Going to check in a few days and if it's still at 1.023 I am gonna bottle. Tastes really good!

I just brewed my second yesterday so I have two beers fermenting and the oh for the second was 1.051 so I think I ought to be fine I did this one with a dry yeast I reactivated so I could have some live lil buggers to put in there but milt first I put liquid wyeast I wanted to try and see how hard it was to see the difference in brewing and I just checked both and they are fermenting beautifully
