Umm... Soo my group made a check in for a Zombie Dust mimosa. And for some reason it got deleted. We're very sad. And would like to get it back up. Dustosa.
Thanx stupac2
Yeah those will always get deleted. If you want to keep blends, put them under one of the component beers.

Is there a reason that the website doesnt have the same convenient "flag as duplicate" button that the app does? Even if it asked me to give a reason why I flagged it, that would still be much more helpful than posting over in the help section.

The **** did Untappd update the feed layout AGAIN without making any substantive changes to the backend?

This is getting to be Facebook level at this point. Nobody cares what the feed looks like.

Apparently the admins care.

So at festival Untappd check-in venues, you can see every check-in. However, when you go to "Top Beers" it just lists the beers without ratings. Is there any way to see "top rated" beers for a venue? Whether raw or adjusted? stupac2?

I'm assuming it's possible for the data to be scraped, if not otherwise available. That's above my knowledge-level, though. If anyone knows how...

Basically I want to see the top scoring beers from EBF this weekend. Considering there are 10,000 check-ins of 547 uniques from 3 sessions, it seems like a robust enough data set to be interesting and informative.

You can probably access this via their API. You can find info on that somewhere on the help website I think.

Is anyone else getting friend requests from completely random people? I've always gotten them, but now it's 4-5 in the past day or so, which is ramping up.

Oddest friend request: username "killingcop." o_O

Yeah, I don't get it either. First few times I saw his posts I thought the shtick was humorous but then it got to be sophomoric and boring.
I just skim past the large majority of his posts now.
I assume he's on here, because I know I haven't escalated myself to a household name in the beer world. Nobody is sitting around saying "man, did you see that awesome thing Michigan did? I wish I could bro out with that guy!" If people thought that, I wouldn't be drinking alone all the time.

I think people just go through all the friends of their friends and friend anyone they're not already friends with.

At first I was wondering why did one of my friends change his name to "your mom" and then I realized I must have friended this dude... Agreed real boring after a week or so. Gonna unfriend

He had a normal name when he friended me. I wouldn't have added him otherwise.

My favorite random request came from 'your mom'. He apparently has fixation on mom jokes, tipping it on back, and some NASCAR driver.
I initially thought the request was from my mom. Saw the jokes associated and realized otherwise.

I read this entire thread, mostly on the train ride home. There were at least several moments where people looked at me sideways as I was giggling to myself

https://untappd.com/user/markgugs - hit me up, I may not accept you though :p

Currently at 670 unique since Dec. 2012 (latecomer), and 1,174 total, because if I'm drinking a beer, I pretty much check it in. Prost!

Here's my terrible list of milestone beers:

stupac2 Any idea why all the entries for Stone El Camino (un)Real Black Ale are being merged into the "aged in Virgin American Oak Barrels" variant?

Not just his check-ins, but others. It seems he cannot accept when people rate his beer poorly and often comments on low-rated check-ins. It makes him seem like a whiny brat.
he also comments on the high rated check ins... pretty much he will interact with anyone with anything to say about his beers on untappd. i'ts kind of become one of his things.

Truth is at our size and reach i find it an incredible tool for people's thoughts in real time in a bar. Sometimes i need to look for clarity and ask someone about their comment. Sometimes i get that clarity, sometimes not. There are of course a couple people that don't get it but in general i have nothing but fun on untappd with all kinds of people who's opinions i wouldn't be able to get otherwise.
I have learned a ton about how people react to our beers good and bad in simple real situations and that is a true asset. When you are making a wild ale with green apple and wasabi as funky as you can push it-- it's important to know what kind of people hate and what kind of people love, if that's as easy as saying "not a sours guy?" on someone's "blech sweat-socks!" comment what person striving to create very different flavors wouldn't take advantage of that option?
Thank you for the feedback about my whining.

Glad to see you found this site. Would you have any interest in doing an Ask Me Anything? If it's interactions with customers you're after, that would seem to be a great way to engage directly with your audience. Cheers.

Maybe if I spent more time hanging out in frat houses in my yout, I would've been clever enough to grab the 'your mom' moniker first.
