Fantastic sour & saison tasting on Friday with a few friends including bentleybeans, kump & Rutager:

If the lineup wasn't crazy enough Rutager brought 2 A&Ts along to open so that everyone could get a big pour! And then somebody pulled a framboos out of their backpack...

Also just so everyone knows, the Lil red on the far right was the gag beer. It's terrible.

Tonight's Tuesday mini-tasting lineup:

Highlights include Batch 2 Conscecration, '13 Vigneronne and the '12 Mother of all Storms. All were excellent though. Left to Right: Night Shift Funk'd Citra, Vigneronne, Mex Cake, Veritas 13, Le Sarrasin, Batch 2 Consecration, Upland Persimmon, Mother of all Storms, The Dissident, Atrial Rubicite (B4).

Good to see DonFrap, kcbaby, Ataraxia, ShowerHeady,

Had a decent share going:

Remy's Pappy. SUPER coconut/vanilla. In a blind tasting I would have guessed this was a vanilla beer. Very damn tasty. Worthy of the hype.

BA Abraxas b2. Where do I start? Stupid good beer. Barely any pepper but great cinnamon/chocolate flavor. GOD DAMN. I need MOAR.

Bourbon Old Stock 2009. Great beer, unfortunately paled next to the others.

BA Everett. Not my favorite to be honest. Far from HF's best.

Veritas 013. DAMN! So good. Nectarine/peach/orange/everything.

Damon b1, was super sweet, not bad but not great.

Damon b2 (bourbon). Great, not in my favorite BA stouts

Port Damon. Can't decide. It was sweet but not cloying. I don't know. Great, but not amazing.

Double Barrel. So happy to tick. Worth the price? NOPE. Great beer, not as good as BA Speedway.

2013 Fou Foune. Always a pleasure, my friend.

Fuzzy.... Aaaah. So glad to finally tick this mofo. It was great. BUT: super sour. Not well balanced, and it had a really weird/funky (not in a good way) smell. Worth a tick, not worth the pricetag. Glad I didn't trade for it.

Bernice b5 had a weird rubber thing going. Not the best I've had.

Not bad, not amazing.

I hate it when people post tastings without highlights. So, Fantasia (2013, is that b2 or b3?) was the biggest standout by far. Peach bomb in the best way. E. with a few months on it now is awesome, wish I hadn't traded away some of them now. 2009 de cam Geuze was dope too.

Totally agree with you about E. Wish I hadnt given bottles to friends when I came back from Hill. Had a bottle to myself about 3 weeks ago and simply love how well the wine barrels are coming along. I have one more that I am saving for my next birthday but I am not sure if it will last that long. So GOOD.
