So the wife is out of town this weekend.

Decided to have a little tasting while watching and celebrating the Kings Stanley Cup victory.....by myself.

Surprisingly operating at 100% this morning, no idea how that happened. And yes black_cascade I'm still alive.

Cuir is drinking really nicely, isn't it? I had a BA cuir a couple weeks ago and thought it was incredible.

Nice looking evening. Congrats on the cup.

Alright, so we had our 4 person Peach Tasting yesterday. Here are the final peach beers opened and rankings.

photo41_zps62e53a41.jpg

1. Peche N Brett 2014
2. Rum BA La Tache w/white peaches
3. Fantasia Batch 1
4. Chez Monus
5. V013
6. Fuzzy
7. Halia
8. Persica Blend 2
9. Persica Blend 1
10. Pechish wood
NR. Upland Peach (unanimous drainpour. I've had the kiwi and a few others and they were all absolutely ******* terrible. No idea why people like these. One of the worst beers ever). Doesn't even deserve a ranking.

It may look like I am being a homer with the top 3 rankings, however, these rankings were the consensus between the 4 of us (i.e. these were my last bottles so I'm not trying to up the "value"). The PnB was a ridiculous Peach bomb, bursting with peach, unreal how good it is.

We also opened sidecars (some kind of heavy beer to offset the tart peach beers) to have alongside the peach beers, as well as a few others that were laying around the fridge.

Rankings of sidecars.

1. BA Abraxas
2. BA First Nail (aka Rusty Nail)
3. Double Barrel Hunahpu

The others were 09 De Cam OG, 2010 cork Classic, Golden Blend. All three of which were amazing, especially that De Cam.

It was a fun tasting and thanks to anyone I traded with to land some of the Peach beers for this. I also made bourbon peach pulled pork sliders, peach turnovers, etc...was a good time.

Thanks for reading!

Which batch/year? I, too, really love that beer.

Looks like a great time! So glad SocalKicks was able to get you a Chez Monus to add to the lineup. Cheers!

It was this years batch Eric, thanks for noticing, edited. And yes, many thanks to SocalKicks and the SoCal crew. I got 'em back though ;)

Gonna have to agree with you. I had SR4 and it tasted like sour orange soda. I'm scared to try any others. I hear they're all acid bombs.

monday funday.

blueberry flora is tits. The Sarassin is pretty damn good too.

CBS has been worse. This bottle was good though especially for the age on it and what it was originally.

B001 consecration, way past it's prime.

hanssens kriek was an 04'. Very weird.

Night shift grove, not very great. Like most stuff from them, below average.

Was that batch 1 or 2 of Grove? Batch 1 was nice but 2 was much different and not very good

1. Peche N Brett 2014

3. Fantasia Batch 1

Assuming from this that Fantasia Batch 1 is far from a sour bomb at this point?

Got a bottle I was suspecting might be past it, given I don't remember a substantial peach presence when it was fresh.

Not at all a sour bomb. Very complex with a nice must and tart combo. Still plenty of peach to be had as well.
